Newbury Choral Society’s ‘Shakespeare in Music’ was a very special occasion. The choir sang their hearts out for Joe’s farewell. Their singing was so expressive with great attention to dynamics and clear articulation. Vaughan Williams’ ‘Three Shakespeare Songs’, sung a cappella, were a triumph. The audience clearly enjoyed the readings of Shakespeare’s sonnets and Joe’s delightful performance of four Shakespeare songs by Thomas Quilter was an extra treat. Congratulations and thanks to all taking part for giving us such a splendid summer’s evening.
