    Dear Feedback,
I very much enjoyed last Saturday. I came with my friend Liz Coughlan a member of the choir. I aren’t able to come regularly to the choir but I think it would be enjoyed by many if you have a further such day next year. I was impressed by the good organisation of the day.
    Yours sincerely, Susan Arstall

    Dear Choral society,
Thank you very much for the highly professional , well organised and musically stimulating day on Saturday. I loved every moment of it. It was a great challenge. Please do it again.
Please thank everyone in the NCS for making us newcomers so welcome, and for providing the tea and coffee.
    best wishes

Thank you so much for giving me the rare chance to sing. Sadly I don’t have the time to commit to joining a choir.

I thoroughly enjoyed the day, although I did find it very challenging. I find that I am still humming bits of what we sang. Personally I was not too fazed by the languages but I was aware that some found this a degree of difficulty too far.

I hope to be able to sing with you again at similar events in the future.

    Regards,

    Diane Smith

Thank you very much, I had a wonderful, if challenging day! Your organisation was excellent, especially with so many people and you made us feel very welcome. It would have been nice to have had the music beforehand to get in a bit of practise, although it would be expensive to post it out. Maybe the possibility to pick it up on a Monday evening? Just a thought.

Also worth telling the audience to sit as far back as possible; my husband was in the front row and felt rather under attack by the sopranos!

    Anyway, overall it was brilliant.

I really enjoyed the day and appreciate all the hard work which must have gone into the organisation. I was surprised to meet up with so many old friends, which was a bonus. I had asked for the music in advance and was glad that I had done some homework, otherwise I would probably have found it too hard to take part in the concert. Great to work with Cathal and enjoyed his approach to the rehearsal. Unfortunately I couldn’t really see him during the performance (inevitable that this will happen with such a large choir) but was surrounded by strong singers which was very helpful. One small comment – I found the music tiring to hold and hard to turn the pages. I didn’t think to bring a folder and was grateful to be lent one for the performance.
Anyway, a brilliant day and I hope that it will be done again. Thanks to all concerned,
    Pauline Pettitt

Thank you to all NCS members for a wonderful day. I thoroughly enjoyed it although I can’t remember the last time I felt so tired! Quite a test of stamina! Congratulations on your wonderful organisation. The whole thing appeared to run like clockwork!

Thank You to the N.C.S for the ‘Come and Sing’ day yesterday; it was a great deal of work for Mike. and his team I realise, but it was a super day and I enjoyed it very much, the ‘concert’ was electrifying, perhaps because it was so little rehearsed. I found Cathal to be a fantastic Conductor, the best one I have ever been conducted by. Cathal’s eyes, and his whole face, made me keep going and crescendo until he brought us off even when I didn’t think I had any breath left! Tessa (Cromwell Singers)

Having come all the way from Trondheim, Norway, (ALSO to see my friend Paul High and his Liz), I’m very thankful to have been given the possibility to participate in this fantastic concert: all very well organised, a fantastic conductor and good singers all around!

I might come for Verdi’s Requiem!

Thank you very much for the great day on Saturday – very challenging and most enjoyable. I too found Cathal to be a fantastic conductor and the Newbury Choral members were most welcoming and encouraging. I hope you will do it again next year. Mary Harcourt

I was invited to the ‘sing’ by my niece Sally, and came for the weekend. I had the music about 10 days before, but had only sung 4 of the pieces as an alto, so I was ‘a bit adrift’ in places. I sing with our church choir – very small, and I haven’t sung with so many voices since school and my days in Cheshire County Youth Choir. I thoroughly enjoyed it, the feeling of that many voices around you, and the concentrated effort.
I would love to sing The Sea Symphony (done as a 2nd Sop many, many years ago!) but unfortunately, even practicing at long distance, I’m not available in June.
Thanks for a super day, enhanced by lovely weather and a starry evening. See you next year, maybe?

I thought the day on Saturday was brilliant and enjoyed it very much although some of the pieces were a bit challenging, singing them for the first time!

Having the programme and music in advance was certainly helpful.

There were a few issues which I felt could be improved upon as under:

Splitting first and second sopranos. They were all muddled up in the church although I think we were more ‘organised’ in the morning session.
Having a one-way system carrying the chairs into and out of the church. The west door could have been opened to ease the congestion.

Other than that, well done it was great.

    regards

    Christine Garrod
