Jane Hawker on :

As a choir member I have always wondered what it would be like to be in the audience and last night I found out. Listening to Carmina Burana was a thrilling experience from beginning to end. The opening bars made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. The balance between choir and orchestra was good and I felt that I could have heard every word if I understood the language! The first half of the programme was a lovely contrast. The venue came into its own during the Dvorak: the open part of the building resembled an IMAX film screen with the wind rustling the leaves of the huge tree against the blue sky, and birds occasionally gliding past. Thank you to everyone for a memorable evening. I am looking forward to coming back in the autumn.
